Merry Christmas!
17. Dec 2007 at 22:29

Just dropped by to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!  Happy Holidays to those not celebrating Christmas.

Christmas this year will be hard without my daughter (27) and my sister (42) who passed away this year due to drugs or alcohol.  We are leaving the US to Christmas in Venice, Italy and hope to continue to recover from our loss!  I believe they are both in Heaven now and happy but for myself, I am left here on earth with the grief.  The holidays are very hard for those who have lost people they love or care about to these addictions.  So if you have lost someone this way like me just know that you are not alone and somehow we must find a way to survive!

All the best and keeping you in my prayers!
Cynthia Smiley

PS  Kevin, you have the same issue on your forum with copying things to clipboard using IE that I had.  Just thought I would let you know!  Wink

A Merry Christmas to you as well Cynthia and try to enjoy yourself. As I have already mentioned your daughter would not want you being upset over Christmas. I know or should I say can imagine that it will be very hard for you to be happy after what you have been through.

Thanks for the info on the copy to clipboard is your forum OK now ??

Hi Cynthia,

I just wanted to send you my best wishes for Christmas and the New Year period as well.

And Cynthia, although we can not truly understand the feelings that you have now, we CAN imagine how hard it must be for you.  But as Kevin said, I’m sure your daughter and sister would definitely not want to see you unhappy at this time.  You have obviously had a very close relationship with them which makes it all that bit harder, but we also need to be thankful for their lives, and celebrate their lives, and the joy they have brought to us.  And also be thankful that they are in a place now where there is no more pain or suffering.

Don’t forget what the ‘reason for the season’ is (and it’s not presents and Santa).  So let’s kick up and sing and dance and be thankful for Him, for your daughter and sister, and also for what WE have, and not what we don’t have.

We’re all praying for you and thinking of you Cynthia.

Have a very Blessed Christmas.

And to everyone in this forum, I hope that you too have a very Blessed Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.  Smiley

Hi everyone!

Thank you for the wishes!  Rod, you are so right in your words.  Thanks for the uplifting words.  The holidays, while I got to crying one time, were lovely and I did remember to be thankful for the times I had with sissy and daughter!  Kevin, all is fine with the forum and looking forward to the new YaBB soon!

Hope everyone is starting the New Year off with good times.  Wishing everyone a wonderful year with as little pain as possible!

(((Hugs)))

Still doing the bug fixes for YaBB2.2 some mods have been changed but some may not work due to the bug fixes changes some of the files.

New Year it seems to be all go not enough hours in a day for me to be honest. Lets hope things slow down.
