What Is GHB

Gammahydroxybutyrate (GHB) comes as a colourless liquid and is sold in small bottles or capsules. The liquid is usually measured out in capfuls and swallowed. GHB has no smell but has a salty taste.

GHB was originally developed as a medicine for use during surgery. GHB is used as an alternative to anabolic steroids. As with Rohypnol, GHB has been associated with sexual assault (date rape drug). Reports indicate liquid GHB is being used in nightclubs for effects similar to those of Rohypnol. It is also a common club drug where it is known as liquid ecstasy, scoop, grievous bodily harm, and G.
